Forecast Last Updated at Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 11:52AM
After five days of unseasonably cool weather, a 6-8 degree temperature bum will feel good today through Friday. Skies are clear thanks to high pressure drifting southeast from the Southern Great Lakes. The ghost of Ian is still buffeting the Delmarva Peninsula today but it exits northeast tonight--good riddance! A dry front moves through from the northwest Friday evening, and cooler weather returns this weekend. Dry weather holds into early next week.

Ian's remnant low continues to plague the Delmarva. It finally exits northeast tonight.
The center of high pressure moves from Indiana today to the Carolinas by Friday morning. In the process, we have clear skies and progressively warmer temperatures--back to seasonal averages.
A front from the northwest (actually two fronts in quick succession) moves through Friday. Cooler air arrives Friday night and will be with us through the weekend. Temperatures moderate early next week as high pressure moves to the Mid-Atlantic. Dry weather holds.
A tropical wave is strengthening just northeast of Trinidad and Tobago. It probably becomes a named system (Julia) in the next couple days as it heads west just north of the coast. It could become an issue for Central America early next week, but is not an issue for us.
