Comfortable temperatures remain today, however the upward trend began Friday and continues through Monday. A subtle front moves through Monday night providing an abbreviated and modest cooldown Tuesday. Thereafter, we're back in the warming saddle despite what the calendar suggests.

Forecast Discussion

I'm starting to flashback to the drought of three years ago. Substantial rainfall is nowhere in site and it may very well take a tropical system in October to break the cycle. High pressure has a tight grip over the Southeast this weekend promoting warming temperatures and ample sunshine.

A cool front is way back in the Northern Plains advancing eastwards and passes through Monday night. It will knock temperatures down to size Tuesday and is about the only weather feature of note in the upcoming week. The front does not have any significant moisture to work with.

High pressure takes a hold for the remainder thereafter with plenty of sunshine and temperatures returning to unseasonably warm levels.
